藤鼠(Fuji-nezumi|Smoky Wisteria Purple)
1. Fuji-nezumi (Smoky Wisteria Purple)
"Fuji-nezumi" combines the elegance of "Fuji" (Wisteria flowers) with the subtlety of "Nezumi" (Grey). During the Edo period (17th–19th century) bright colors were often restricted leading to the development of "Shijuhatcha Hyakunezumi" (48 Browns and 100 Greys)—a culture of enjoying nuanced understated shades. This color is like wisteria blossoms viewed through a light mist or at twilight. It is a muted romantic purple that embodies "Iki" (chic style) offering a sophisticated and mature charm.

3. How to Dye
This kit includes a detailed step-by-step guide, ensuring a worry-free experience even for beginners.
The basic process is simple: immerse your fabric in the extracted dye, apply the mordant (to fix the color), then wash and dry.
Enjoy a slow, mindful time in your own kitchen, surrounded by the natural scent of the plants as the colors transform.
4. Care Instructions for Your Finished Piece
- Washing: Wash separately using a neutral detergent in cold or lukewarm water to prevent color transfer.
- Drying: Natural dyes are sensitive to UV rays. Please dry in the shade to preserve the hue.
- Aging: The color will settle and the texture will deepen with use. Enjoy the natural shifting of tones as part of the unique beauty of living colors.
5. Important Notes
- The final color result will vary depending on the fabric material (cotton, linen, silk, etc.), thickness, dyeing time, and temperature.
- Slight color unevenness is characteristic of hand-dyeing. Please enjoy these unique marks of authenticity that cannot be replicated by machines.
- Please be cautious of potential shrinkage when dyeing delicate natural fibers such as wool or silk.
6. Sustainability
Using natural dyes minimizes chemical runoff and reduces environmental impact.
Additionally, re-dyeing old garments breathes new life into them, contributing to a culture of "upcycling" and cherishing items for years to come.
